Check Out the Corn Maze at Clark Farms in Matunuck This Fall

Although things start to slow down a little bit in the fall, South County is still full of great activities for the entire family. You can typically secure a vacation rental at a great rate and take advantage of the beautiful weather that lasts into October, too, giving you even more reason to consider the autumn for your holiday.

One annual event worth checking out is the corn maze at Clark Farms in Matunuck, RI. This massive maze is an attraction all to itself, as many locals ensure they get there at least once when it opens in the fall. You’ll be shocked when you see the size of the maze and even more surprised if you manage to make it out without getting lost.

If you’re visiting South County this fall, Clark Farks is worth a visit at its central location just off the Commodore Perry Highway. Here’s everything you should know about this year’s maze.

The Maze

In 2023, the corn maze will be open every day between September 17 and October 30. If you’ve ever visited this maze before, you know it always has a theme. This year’s theme is an alien invasion, so you can expect some paranormal surprises as you make your way through it.

You’ll almost certainly get lost in the maze at some point, but don’t worry because many other people will be there, too. It features well-manicured paths and lookouts, helping you figure out where you are as you make your escape. You can also participate in other on-site events while you’re there, allowing you to make a day of it.

Try the Maze at Night

If navigating the maze during the day isn’t challenging enough, try visiting the farm at night. The corn maze is open until 8:00 PM every Saturday in October, so bring your flashlight and try to exit.

Campfires with free s’mores will be present these evenings, providing an excellent end to a full day spent exploring South County. These maze nights have a festive atmosphere with plenty of families attending, giving you something to do at night while getting to know the region.

Hayrides and Other Activities

Although the maze is the feature attraction, it isn’t the only activity you’ll find at Clark Farms. For starters, there will be hayrides at the venue, taking you through the farm and allowing you to see more of what goes on at this large property.

You’ll also find plenty of games and activities for the kids. For starters, they can test their shooting accuracy with a corn cannon, with full supervision, of course. They can also play basketball on the farm’s hoops, slide down the monstrous Mountain Slide, or race some friends on the farm’s pedal-powered go-karts.

There’s even an on-site petting zoo your kids can check out while exploring the farm. This zoo allows your kids to get up close to some animals in a controlled environment and could become the highlight of their vacation.

Visit South County in the Fall

South County isn’t necessarily known as an autumn destination, but there’s plenty to keep you busy if you arrive once the leaves start falling. This maze is a small sample of what the region has to offer after the summer, as there’s always something exciting to do with your family.

As a bonus, you won’t have to deal with the same crowds and traffic as in the summer, so you might enjoy the area even more once the seasons change. Book your vacation rental early to ensure you find a spot near the Clark Farms corn maze or any other fall event you wish to attend.
